Dr. Carl Cottrell knew early on that optometry was his calling. A native of Meeteetse, Wyoming, he experienced firsthand the life-changing clarity of vision correction as a child — and never forgot it. He completed his undergraduate studies at Northwest College in Powell and the University of Wyoming before earning his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1998.
Dr. Cottrell began his career at Newcastle Vision Clinic and subsequently purchased and expanded Worland Vision Clinic in 2010. Known for his friendly approach and attention to detail, he built a loyal patient base through years of dedicated, personal care. In 2009, he served as President of the Wyoming Optometric Association, reflecting his commitment to leadership within the profession.
His passion for service extends beyond the clinic. Dr. Cottrell has volunteered with VOSH International (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity), delivering free eye care to underserved communities in Mexico and Guatemala.
Today, he leads Logan Vision Clinic inside Costco Logan, offering patients of all ages honest, personalized care without retail distractions. Outside the exam room, Dr. Cottrell enjoys spending time with his wife, Candace, their five daughters, five sons-in-law, and five grandchildren, a family legacy that inspires the warm, community-focused care he’s known for.
